Old World Chocolate is one maker, one kitchen, and a shelf of very good ingredients in Valley Center, California.
We make chocolate the way it was made before shortcuts: fine couverture, tempered by hand; ganache built from real cream and real butter; fruit that was actually fruit, and mint that was actually mint.
What we will not use
No artificial flavors. No dyes. No preservatives. No palm oil. Where a flavor calls for citrus, we use real oil from the peel; where it calls for berries, we use the fruit itself. The ingredient list on every box reads like a recipe, because it is one.
The old world part
The name is a promise about method. Small batches, molded and finished by hand. Chocolate tempered until it snaps. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is pretended.
A cottage food operation
We are a registered Cottage Food Operation in San Diego County — everything is made in a home kitchen, labeled and sold as California law provides, directly to you. That means small quantities, sold in person. We think chocolate is better that way, and we suspect you will too.
